Grow

Grow

Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.

Colossians 2:6-7

Come on, get your kids involved. You’ll be glad you did!

Children's Ministry

We value the families and especially the children that God brings to Hunter Road. Because we understand what a great privilege and responsibility it is to care for children, we take measures to ensure that our church is a place where children can be ministered to effectively and safely. We ensure that appropriate teacher to child ratios are maintained, we post allergies of all preschool children visibly for workers to see, and we have classes divided by age group so that all children can enjoy learning on their own level. Additionally, we perform background checks on all teachers and volunteers who work with children so that parents can feel secure in leaving their children with our dedicated classroom and nursery workers.

Beyond keeping your children safe, we also think it’s necessary for kids to have fun and make new friends as they learn what God has to say to them in the Bible.  We have a place for every child both on Sunday mornings and on Wednesday evenings.  Kids need a mid-week re-charge, and our Wednesday classes for K-2nd and 3rd-6th provide just that. Kids learn Biblical truth in a fun environment and in ways that they will enjoy.

Our ministry to children ramps up after the school year is done. Each summer, our kids spend three fun-filled days at an overnight camp along with some of their friends from other churches in our area. They also look forward to a week of VBS, other exciting summer activities, and a back-to-school event towards the end of the summer with the rest of the church. There are many ways you and your children can stay involved and stay growing year-round.

student Ministry

We also understand that the middle school and high school years present unique challenges for students who are wanting to follow God's plan for their lives. They need good role models investing in their lives during these years and that is what our dedicated and screened volunteers provide for them.

Our students meet in their own classroom building for Sunday morning Bible study and Wednesday evening youth group.

We also have summer activities for our youth. Each year, we take a mission trip somewhere in the States and have opportunities to get involved with Vacation Bible School. Our youth also take part in our church-wide, back-to-school event.

Adult Ministries

For too many adult Christians, their testimony of God’s work in their life is limited to a single event of conversion, often decades earlier.  As a church we are committed to the idea of continued growth, not just for the younger generation, but for every member from the point of salvation until our Maker calls us home.  While growth can and should take place as we encounter the Word in worship services, there is so much more that takes place as we study the word personally and in small groups of fellow believers.  It is in these contexts that we take the challenge to move from hearers to doers.  And as we obey God and surrender more of ourselves to His purpose for our lives, we, like a plant, grow strong and become fruitful.

We have large group Bible study on Wednesday evenings, life stage-specific groups on Sunday morning, small, gender-specific discipleship groups that meet throughout the week, and seasonal ladies’ Bible studies…all for the purpose of helping us grow and mature as we follow Christ.
